Pekin Jr. High Football Weeks 4 and 5

Well, we have wrapped up our summer training sessions with the Pekin Jr. High Football Teams.
The last few sessions were spent working in more sport specific positions as well as applying football specific speed and agility drills. Overall the group progressed quickly which allowed us to spend some time on some more advanced movements, as well as giving us the opportunity to begin working on some basic barbell exercise techniques.
I was extremely happy with the work ethic, attitude, and manners of the group which made the experience that much more enjoyable. Keep up the hard work everyone!
I would like to wish both teams good luck and hopefully we can do something like this again in the future.
Thank you again to the student-athletes, Coach Hadley, Pekin Community Schools, and the parents for the opportunity!

Pekin Jr. High Football Week 3

Week 3 with the Pekin Jr. High Football Teams has come to an end.  I must say that I’m very impressed with the work ethic and improvements in both confidence and technique I have seen over the last couple of training sessions.

With only a few sessions left with the team, I would really like to focus on making sure the kids are able to hold good football positions and that they are taking off explosively from all positions. If we can accomplish this, I feel they will have a good jump on things heading into practices.

Pekin Jr. High Football Week 2

We had a pretty good couple of sessions this week. The kids are all working hard and are picking up on things quickly. We added in more competitive games and drills to complement our speed and agility technique work as well as some new resistance training and dynamic warm up movements.
As we continue over the next couple of weeks we will continue to progress into more advanced movements and add in some more competitive drills.
